“We are what we read and from there what we write.”

Teacher/Learner playing, fearing expansion while growing more blessed and confident.

Students will have more success in the classroom living as writers, and allowing the process (of thinking, writing, creating) to take precedence over the product.

Learning from our guest presenter Jeff Creswell on how to develop Storyline this week, I know that I now have a vast amount of exciting knowledge to show and share with my English classes beginning in the fall.

Jeff Creswell’s hotel storyline activity was stimulating, allowed us to switch over to the student role, and we soon discovered how shockingly relevant it was to our curriculum across the grades.

This week was enjoyable and eye opening.  Storyline is another clever and creative way to incorporate many standards in one lesson.

A journey to a relaxing green friendly island meeting unique guests and experiencing mystery on the way.

After working with Jeff, I was inspired to once again to base my instruction around creativity and constructivism, because this is what makes learning meaningful and engaging for my students.

This week was a challenge to fully take our teacher hat off and then put the teacher had on in a new way with process and not standard.

Learning about Storyline by doing was like Alice falling into the RABBIT HOLE and being immersed in a new world.

Ecosystems, WW2, Inventors- All possibilities for storylines.

Jeff came and we sketched, built models, acted scenes, wrote dialogue, collaborated, laughed and lived into how much fun learning through the Storyline Process can be as we outgrew ourselves and built a stronger community of artists, builders, actors and writers of fiction as well as memoir, poetry and…..

This has been an inspiring and extremely motivating week.

This week was eye-opening, and I learned yet another useful tool I can take back into the classroom.

Refreshing and clear about teaching and learning with storylines..

I have been enlightened and inspired as teacher, a writer, and a person.

“We are what we read and from there what we write.”

Brookgreen Gardens was a blast yesterday! I thoroughly enjoyed the time meeting everyone and having the to write, draw, paint, walk, and reflect. The gardens were stunning as always. I look forward to working with each of you as your technology liaison.

Below is technology lesson number one. I have put together a voice thread to use as a reflection of yesterday’s events. There are about ten pictures and you have an opportunity to reflect, share thoughts, or make a comment about the day with one or more pictures. You have three ways to contribute and I encourage you to contribute in at least two mediums.

Underneath the picture you will see some familiar Icons. Click play. You will see comments either through video, audio, or text. For you to contribute, click on the appropriate icon and share. If you don’t have a microphone, click on the telephone and enter you phone number with area code. Once your phone rings, follow the directions from little man on the phone and record your comment. Have fun and look forward to hearing your reflection.
